Taiwo Awoniyi netted a goal to end his drought as Nottingham Forest earned a 2-0 win on Sunday against Brentford, a result that helped Forest stay clear of the relegation zone.

Nottingham Forest took possession from the beginning of the game and got a goal in the 12th minute since the match began when Igor Jesus scored the first goal through a well-timed assist that came from Ola Aina.

Awoniyi came into the game as a substitute and was brought in in the 68th minute as Forest showed strong defense from the forward and defense.

Awoniyi, a Nigeria international, made an immediate remark as he fired a decisive second goal 11 minutes from time.

He did a superb solo run into the penalty box before he gently fired the ball into Brentford’s net.

The goal was the Nigerian superstar’s first goal since the season commenced and his first for the club since February 11, 2025, when he was one of those who netted in the 2–2 draw against Exeter earlier this campaign season.
