Tottenham Hotspur displayed a strong comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday in a much-contested Premier League game at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton, who were at home, scored the first goal in the 8th minute through a fine finish by Yankuba Minteh before Yasin Ayari fired into Tottenham’s net before the end of the first half to double the lead.
Tottenham got an opportunity to fire back a goal just before the first half came to an end as Richarlison took advantage of a fine pass to make it 2-1. Richardlison scored in the 43rd minute.
The second half did not come easily for the two sides, as Brighton put in a hard effort to maintain the lead while Tottenham fought to make it a draw.
Tottenham’s effort yielded a result in the 82nd minute through an own goal when Jan Paul van Hecke directed the ball into his side’s net under pressure.
The two teams did not give up on securing a win, but the game ended in a draw, putting Tottenham five points behind league leaders, Liverpool, while Brighton remains in the middle of the league table.
