Rudi Johnson, a former running back for the Cincinnati Bengals, is dead. His passing away at the age of 45 was shared by the Cincinnati Bengals, but the cause of the death was not revealed.
Mike Brown, the president of the team, in his statement, mentioned that the late player was a “dear friend” and “fine person.”
Rudi Johnson did not have much action during his early days in his professional career, but he broke out with nine touchdowns and 957 rushing yards in 2003.
The player had the opportunity to feature in Bengals games as a starter in 2004 after Corey Dillon left the team. He produced three remarkable seasons.
Part of his achievements during his career include rushing for a franchise-record 1,454 yards, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2004, before he moved above 1,458 yards in 2005, a feat that can never be forgotten. He had 12 touchdowns per year and about 1,407 rushing yards between 2004 and 2006.
Johnson could not give his best in 2007 due to an injury that he encountered, while he ended his career in 2008 with the Detroit Lions. Former teammate Chad Johnson has sent his tribute to the loved ones of the late players as he remembered their time together as Bengals draft picks in 2001.
