
United States-based Judge Frank Caprio, a man who is unanimously agreed worldwide as the kindest judge on earth, has passed away due to cancer. He was 88 years old at the time of his death.
Judge Caprio is popular on social media, where numerous videos abound of his interactions with people in his courtroom and his leniency in judgment.
Not only is the celebrity judge applauded for his leniency, he also uses his position of authority towards charity by helping defendants pay their fines through crowd donations, after lowering them to the most affordable amount they could pay.
Videos of his courtroom dealings are aired in his popular TV show Caught in Providence. His interactions with offenders, mostly traffic offenders, in which he listens and shares their personal struggles with them, earned him the title of the “nicest judge in the world”.
Judge Frank Caprio died on Wednesday, 20 August, battling pancreatic cancer. He was first diagnosed with the disease in November 2023 and underwent a series of chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
His treatment continued till 2024 as he urged people worldwide to pray for him. He was optimistic and shared his journey online.
A heartbreaking video he shared shortly before his death, where he once again urged people to pray for him, just as they did the previous year, which saw him through, meant there was a relapse of the cancer.
In the highly emotional video, Judge Frank Caprio, who was lying on a hospital bed, said the setback sent him back to the hospital, and urged people to pray for him again, if it’s not too much, emphasizing his belief in the power of God, while giving out a smile.
His death sent a shockwave of mourning across the world. His work of showing that fairness and kindness can be applied even while applying justice was done. “A good man has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and warmth that will never be forgotten”, one of his fans wrote in his tribute.
Besides his success in the legal system and millions of fans following him on social media, the most loved Judge Frank Caprio is also a family man and great-grandfather who is survived by his 60-year-old wife, five children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
