Ever since the photo of a black man that looked so much like Elon Musk hit the internet, people have been eager to know if the 40-year-old from Kenya was really fathered by the Tesla and X CEO.
According to viral online claims, the dark-skinned coloured Elon-look-alike claimed to be his long-lost first son and says he wants a DNA test done to prove his claims.
According to him, his mother met Elon Musk in the 90s when he was in his twenties, and she was working at a hotel in the Masai Mara in Kenya.
However, beyond the viral online claims, no other information is known about the unknown child of Elon Musk. A check using Google’s reverse image search shows that the same image has been on the internet for over a year, and has is popular in the Nigerian space as “Erimus”, stemming from a self-acclaimed pastor Odumeje.
Without information such as his name, other photos, social media accounts, etc, the credibility of the photo is very doubtful and is most certainly AI-generated.
Another puncture to the viral claim was that Elon was 20 years old when he supposedly met his mother. If that was true and the man is 40 years old, then Elon would be 60 years old, and not 54. Unless he was mistaken and Elon fathered him at an underage 14-year-old boy.
However, another social media account by the name “Unknown Facts” puts Elon Musk’s age when he allegedly met the man’s mother at 16, putting his supposedly current age at 56, which is closer to Elon’s real age.
Unknown Facts also reported that the man was seeking money, but only wanted to be recognized.
However, the overwhelming lack of identification casts a major doubt on the authenticity of the photo and claims.
Final verdict: The photo of the black Kenyan man claiming to be the son of Elon Musk is fake and artificially generated.
