Real Betis lost 1-0 on Saturday, January 11, to Real Valladolid, which makes them drop from ninth position on the La Liga table to 10th.
Vitor Roque, who plays forward for his country Brazil started the match on the bench, showed his ability and creativity when he came in as a substitute, but could not create more chances to find the net, which extended his goal drought.
After a frustrating performance in which he simulated a penalty in the final minute, he received a yellow card as well.
Another Brazil international, Marcos André, earned the star of the game with his standout play after delivering a good pass and dominating Betis’ defense with his ball protection, helping Real Valladolid to earn the victory.
Marcos André, who is now 28 years old, built all his professional career in Spain, where he moved in 2015 from Guaratinguetá to Celta de Vigo. He moved to his current club in 2019/20 after stints at some smaller teams and a loan to Mirandés.
The Brazilian went back to Valladolid last season after staying two seasons at Valencia. He has netted three goals in all of the 14 games that he has featured in this season in La Liga.
