Video: Iranian Woman Strips Semi-Naked In Public To Protest Harrassment For Improper Dressing

An Iranian student named Ahoo Daryaei took matters close to the barest minimum by taking off her clothes in public after she was harressed by morality police for exposing her hair under the hijab.

According to weareiranianstudents (WAIS), Daryaei, a student at Tehran’s Islamic Azad University was reportedly stopped and assaulted by the Basij paramilitary force few days ago for not wearing her veil properly. Men of the Basij militia – a group that had been classified by the United States as a terrorist group, was said to have rough-handled her badly and tore her cloths.

Daryaei decided to protest the inhumane treatment she received by stripping herself almost naked except for her underwear, outside the University campus.

The University’s head of Public Relations in a statement on X said that campus security detained the female student because of an indecent act and handed her over to law enforcements.

Contrary to public option, the University also said that she was suffering from a mental disorder.

Her defiant act did not go unnoticed as it quickly went viral with many students, social media personnel as well as the international community, calling for her immediate release, while condemning the oppressive stance of the Iranian Morality police against the people’s freedom.

Elika Eftekhari who spoke with Fox News commended Ahoo Daryaei for her bravery given the fact that she knew the consequences which were imprisonment, torture and rape. It shows the level of “depression and hopelessness among Iranians”, the Iranian American lawyer said.

In September 2023, a woman named Mahsa Amini died while in the custody of Iranians morality police after she was arrested for wearing an improper hijab. Her death sparked widespread demonstrations which, despite the involvement of the international community, only lead to more fatalities.
