Actor Song Jae Rim Found Dead at 39 Authorities Say No Signs of Foul Play

Tragically, actor Song Jae Rim’s lifeless body was found in his Seoul apartment on Tuesday by a friend, according to various news sources.

The specific circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown; however, authorities have indicated that there are no indications of foul play. A two-page letter was also found at the scene prompting some to suspect he must have died by suicide.

Song Jae Rim gained recognition for his portrayal of a devoted bodyguard in the widely acclaimed 2012 drama “The Moon Embracing the Sun.”

This role was a turning point in his career and led to appearances in various successful series, including Flower Boy Ramen Shop, Inspiring Generation, and Goodbye Mr. Black.

In addition to his acting, he appeared on reality television, particularly on “We Got Married,” which further elevated his fame and appeal. Some months ago, he was actively promoting his new dramas, “My Military Valentine” and “Queen Woo,” and seemed alright during his interviews.

The Economic Times reported that weeks before his death, the actor changed his account name to “Starting Along Journey” while also restricting comments, which raised concerns about his well-being. According to a Korean media outlet, Yonhap News Agency, Song Jae Rim’s family has opted for a private funeral, scheduled for Thursday at a funeral home in Yeouido.

Song Jae Rim was born in 1985 and made his acting debut in the film “Actresses.” He quickly won over audiences with his memorable performances in both television and film. His final stage appearance was in the play “The Rose of Versailles,” which wrapped up shortly before his passing.
