Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 2-2 draw on Thursday against Roma in a Europa League clash.
The Premier League team that had recently defeated Manchester City started strongly as their forward Son Heung-min scored the first goal through a penalty kick.
Roma did not feel destabilized by the early lead by Tottenham as they rushed to equalize the game in the 20th minute through a goal by Evan Ndicka. Just before the end of the first half, Brennan Johnson scored a goal to restore Tottenham’s lead, putting the Premier League team in a front position.
While Tottenham had the possession, they could not defeat Roma when Mats Hummels scored a stoppage-time goal to equalize the match, majoring on Yves Bissouma’s defensive error, who played everyone onside.
The result was not a good one for Tottenham Hotspur and not an expected one, but there were positive chances that were created. Left center-back Ben Davies did well in his second consecutive start for the club, substituting for Cristian Romero, who is currently injured, and Micky van de Ven.
The Welshman did an outstanding performance where he completed 91% of his passes, winning the whole of his tackles, and succeeding in five duels. He also had six crucial clearances, displaying his defensive reliability.
Tottenham can do better in their subsequent games, while this match is disappointing for them.
