Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo scored a goal in the 69th minute, slipping past everyone to end in Brighton’s net. Mohamed Salah scored the goal that sealed Liverpool’s win in less than three minutes after Gakpo’s goal, cutting the right and kicking a fine shot into the corner.
The Reds’ win against Brighton and Manchester City’s loss against Bournemouth put Liverpool in the sole lead in the Premier League’s standings, while Brighton sits in seventh.
