The Golden State Warriors played valiantly without superstar Stephen Curry on Wednesday night at Chase Center against the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Warriors appeared dominated in most of the first half of the game, with the Thunder leading by as much as 19 points. Thunder also was full of physicality and sharp execution, which provided them an edge against the Warriors.
Surge was obvious in the late first half, giving life to the game. The first half ended with the Warriors leading with a 12-4 run, and they took the momentum into the third quarter, leading Oklahoma City 20-12 in the first six minutes and also defeating their opponent by 11 during the quarter.
Draymond Green, Kyle Anderson, Buddy Hield, and Jonathan Kuminga were at their best during the game, leading to a comeback while the great defense denied the Thunder creating good opportunities and limited them to 39.5% in the second half.
Offensive battles reoccurred at the late time of the game despite their tenacity finally leading to the Golden State Warriors’ defeat. The Oklahoma City Thunder won the game with a score of 105-101, giving the Golden State a defeat that went into the “moral victory” column.
The defeat for the Warriors was fueled by missed chances in crunch time while their resilience motivated the 18,064 crowd at the stadium.
