Morocco has ended their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier with a massive 7-0 victory against Lesotho on Monday, 18th of November, at the Stade d’Honneur d’Oujda.

In another game, Gabon also thrashed a fellow groupmate, the Central African Republic (CAR), 1-0 to remain in the second position of the Group B table. The two countries have secured their slots and will be playing at the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, but their final game in the qualifying tournament gives both teams the opportunity to show their capacity.

Morocco did their best throughout the qualifying matches, preparing to host other African countries to the AFCON next year by winning six consecutive matches in the group.

Morocco was more than prepared against Lesotho, as Brahim Díaz scored three of their seven goals in the first half while Soufiane Rahimi scored a penalty before the end of the first- half to seal their 5-0 halftime lead.

Despite the first half 5-0 lead, Morocco did not stop adding more pressure to the game in the second half, with both Youssef En-Nesyri and Ismael Saibari contributing a goal each to demolish Lesotho.

Morocco ended their qualifying tournament with a +24 goal difference, while they conceded just two goals across all games.

This record puts the AFCON host, Morocco, as one of the tournament favorites.
