McDonald’s China displayed progress on its smart supply chain project while they discussed fresh, traceable ingredients and green agriculture practices at the China International Supply Chain Expo that was held in Beijing.
The Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s China also included that the expo is an avenue where collaboration works, innovation, and sustainability among employers of labor, suppliers, and franchisees.
The announcement of the “One Case, One Code” initiative’ is one of the major ones across the country, and it leverages RFID and also improves technologies from Cainiao to boost supply chain efficiency.
More than 100 supplier factories are expected to be a part of the project to be able to enable precise project tracking and improve recording and inventory efficiency by more than 30%.
McFarm Calendar was also introduced by McDonald’s China, which stands as their first cultural product celebrating green farming and revealing the experiences of 12 farmers who are also contributors to regenerative practices.
The McFarm Calendar only has 5,000 sets, and they can be seen on McDonald’s app. 20 restaurants across 15 cities will be transforming into McFarm-themed locations to better serve customers.
McDonald’s China’s regenerative agriculture plan has been able to train almost 5,000 farmers since 2023. They have also delved into the promotion of animal welfare, launching a cage-free chicken program, including building healthy living conditions for chickens.
McDonald’s China did not stop driving innovation and sustainability in its operations through these initiatives.
