Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump, in an attempt to push his campaign in Pennsylvania, traveled to a McDonald’s franchise in Feasterville-Trevose, where he wore an apron and began giving out packages to customers waiting in the drive-thru lane.
Most importantly, he helped to cook the fast-food popular fries. However, he did not go there to just share orders. As part of his plans to smear Harris’s campaign, he wanted to prove that she never worked at McDonald’s.
Harris has taken pride in sharing where she worked with American citizens in an attempt to push her ‘hard work and relatability’ campaign.
According to the vice president of the United States, she worked the cash register and made fries during the summer of 1983. At the time, Harris was an undergraduate at Howard University.
However, former President Trump has accused her of lying about where she worked.
Trump senior advisor Jason Miller also threw shade at the vice president before a third trip to Pennsylvania, telling reporters that Trump was going to the restaurant “so that one candidate in this race could have actually worked at McDonald’s.”
After the shady display by the Republican Presidential candidate, Harris’s team responded, calling him a liar.
“When Trump feels desperate, all he knows how to do is lie,” Harris campaign spokesman Ian Sams told Business Insider. “He can’t understand what it’s like to have a summer job because he was handed millions on a silver platter, only to blow it.”
While the former President had ulterior motives at McDonald’s, it was good PR for the restaurant chain.
“As a small, independent business owner, it is a fundamental value of my organization that we proudly open our doors to everyone who visits the Feasterville community. That’s why I accepted former President Trump’s request to observe the transformative working experience that 1 in 8 Americans have had: a job at McDonald’s,” Derek Giacomantonio, the owner of the Pennsylvania location Trump visited said.
“As a former crew member, I can attest this job is more than burgers and fries, but a meaningful pathway to opportunity.”
