Robert Lewandowski scores a brace to put Barcelona in the 4-0 winning position against Real Madrid in El Clasico, putting the leader six points above their arch-rival, Real Madrid. Real Madrid had hoped to defeat Barcelona to continue their unbeaten streak into 43 games in the league.

If Real Madrid had won the match, they would have equated Barcelona’s record from April 2017 to May 2018, but Barcelona dashed their hopes through a spectacular performance displayed by the Spanish leader in the second half.

Lewandowski scored the first goal at 54 minutes after both teams were unable to convert all their efforts in the first half to produce a goal. A few minutes after the first goal, Lewandowski shocked the home side again, heading into the net with a cross from Alejandro Balde.

Lamine Yamal, a Spanish national who is only 17 years old, scored Barcelona’s third goal after he struck a shot that went into the top corner of the post, making him the youngest player to have ever scored in the history of El Clasico. Raphina scored the last goal in the game that made it end in 4-0, making it his first goal against Real Madrid.

This game is the first that French forward Kylian Mbappe will play for Real Madrid against Barcelona, but it ended in disappointment. He scored two goals that were ruled out because of offside; his brilliant effort to score was also saved by Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena.
