There will be heavy traffic and many roads will be blocked on Tuesday in South Fulton as the city prepares for the burial of Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan.
The South Fulton Police Department explained that the roads that lead to Old National Highway will be closed in preparation for the event.
The roads will be closed between 10-10:30 a.m. and 1:30-2 p.m. to accommodate the funeral procession.
Those roads that will be affected by the funeral include Burdett Road, Pleasant Hill Road, Surrey Trail, Jerome Road, Jolly Road, and Old Bill Cook Road. The funeral will also happen at World Changers Church International on Burdett Road.
“Please allow extra time to reach your destinations. The City of South Fulton Police Department will have additional officers patrolling the Old National Corridor and throughout the city, prepared to handle incidents or address any potential concerns,” the department said in a Facebook post.
The reason for Rich Homie Quan’s, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar’s, death is yet to be ascertained, while he was born on October 4, 1989.
Investigation into what caused his death is currently being handled by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office. The responding officer did not see any signs of foul play, according to the incident report.
The community will be gathering to honor the rapper, as they are expected to pay their respects, and drivers have been advised to plan their routes accordingly due to the road closures.
