Victor Osimhen wrote a vote of thanks for his new club Galatasaray, after the team secured an emphatic 3-1 win on Saturday in the Turkish Super Lig Istanbul derby against Fenerbahce.
Though he did not feature in Galatasaray’s midweek win against Gaziantep, he played for the much-talked-about derby at the Ulker Stadyumu Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Spor Kompleksi.
Though Osimhen did not score any goal in the match, he provided the assist that was key to Galatasaray’s two goals. The Lions earned the victory with goals that were scored by Gabriel Sara, Dries Mertens, and an own goal by Dominik Livakovic.
He thanked his fans on social media for their unwavering support adding that their cheers gave them the courage to continually push forward.
The game was much anticipated because of the strength of both teams, as they stand as the biggest clubs in Turkey, and their fixture is one of the most competitive in world football, with both teams earning a combined 43 Super Lig titles.
