A third world war might be brewing after Ukraine hit a Russian beach with a United States-supplied and guided ATACMS missile cluster munitions, killing four people, including two children, and injuring about 150 others.

Videos show people running from a beach near Sevastopol and some of the injured being carried off.

Russian authorities directly blamed the United States for the attack in Crimea and formally warned the U.S. ambassador that they would retaliate.

“You should ask my colleagues in Europe, and above all in Washington (USA), the press secretaries, why their governments are killing Russian children. Just ask them this question,” Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman said. America was also accused of “waging a hybrid war against Russia and has actually become a party to the conflict”, and said the latest attack on Russia will “not go unpunished and that “retaliatory measures will definitely follow.”

Russia said that the United States not only supplied the weapons but also aimed the weapons and provided data for Ukraine.

How Likely Will A World War 3 Happen?

The latest attack on Russia is coming after Moscow warned that the war with Ukraine is entering the most dangerous escalatory phase since it started.

Though Ukraine and the US have not made a comment, President Biden had acknowledged that a direct confrontation with Russia will spell World War 3 when he said sending U.S. troops to fight in Ukraine was not an option, following Russia’s invasion in 2022.

The West too denies that it wants to attack Russia.

Russia however does not see them as friendly after the United States and Britain allowed Ukraine to use some U.S. weapons against Russia.

In response, Putin signed a mutual defense pact with North Korea and conducted drills on the deployment of nuclear weapons which it said could reach the United States. Also mirroring their actions, Putin said that Russia might supply weapons to North Korea.
