Hamas has released a video of Hersh Goldberg-Polin with a cut-off hand, an Israeli-American citizen kidnapped and held hostage by the Palestinian militants on October 7 during their attack on Israel.
Prior to the release of Hersh Goldberg-Polin’s video, there was no proof of the life of the American citizen who was seen in a video during the onslaught forced into a truck. Watch the video of his kidnap below.
Hersh’s mother, Rachel, has since been on the spotlight as she sought the release of her son. The distraught mum who has met both Biden and the Pope, now has a spot on the list of Time’s 100 most influential people of 2024.
In Hersh Goldberg-Polin’s video, the 23-year-old American-Israeli berated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, “Benjamin Netanyahu and his government should be ashamed”, he said, adding that thousands of people like him have been abandoned to their fate.
He also said Israeli airstrikes killed 70 prisoners of war, asked why Israel cannot come to an agreement with the many deals that have been offered to them by Hamas, and revealed that he and other detainees live in an underground cell without food, water, sun or treatment for their health conditions (raising his severed hand) while members of Netanyahu government and their families live comfortably while continuing waging the war, calling for his resignation.
