Ahead of its release on April 26, Stellar Blade is already undergoing improvements from developer Shift Up, promising an enhanced gaming experience for players.
In a departure from the norm, the day-one patch for Stellar Blade isn’t solely dedicated to fixing critical bugs or addressing performance issues. Instead, it introduces a New Game Plus mode, enabling players to carry over their unlocked skills into the game’s Hard mode, accessible upon completing the Normal mode.
Moreover, the New Game Plus mode in Stellar Blade expands skill tree slots, empowering players to further enhance abilities like Beta Charge and Burst Skills to tackle even more formidable adversaries. Additionally, upgrades for the drone are extended beyond previous limits.
Players can also retain progress from their initial playthrough, including discovered memory sticks, passwords, and lore, facilitating access to previously inaccessible chests.
In my review of Stellar Blade, I awarded it a perfect score, considering it one of the standout PS5 games of this generation. The inclusion of New Game Plus only reinforces this sentiment.
The swift addition of New Game Plus to Stellar Blade is noteworthy, especially considering the lengthy delays often associated with implementing such features. For comparison, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 introduced New Game Plus five months after its initial release.
Given the game’s remarkable polish and minimal storage requirements of just 30.4GB, the prompt addition of New Game Plus is a testament to its overall quality.
