Taylor Swift appeared to reignite her longstanding feud with Kim Kardashian in a track from her latest album “thanK you aIMee,” leaving everyone eagerly awaiting Kardashian’s response. Yet, during her first public appearance since the album’s release, Kardashian seemed unfazed, offering a rather anticlimactic reaction.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on April 22, Kardashian opted not to address the apparent diss track directly. Instead, she simply stated, “Life is good.” Perhaps the topic didn’t arise during the interview, so Kardashian didn’t get the chance to address the ongoing feud.
The significance of the capitalization in “thanK you aIMee,” spelling out K-I-M, adds pointed meaning to the lyrics, describing “a bronze, spray-tanned statue of you.” Swift sings about feeling betrayed and belittled, unable to forgive the hurt inflicted. The second verse further emphasizes the unequal battle and public mockery faced by Swift.
The feud traces back to 2016 when Kardashian released a recording suggesting Swift approved lyrics to Kanye West’s song “Famous” on Snapchat, only to later reveal a potentially edited version of the conversation. Despite the controversy, Swift claims Kardashian never apologized.
Despite the drama, Kim Kardashian appears uninterested in prolonging the feud this time around.
