Outspoken television host Eamonn Holmes has once again taken aim at Meghan Markle, this time criticizing the Duchess of Sussex’s foray into the world of reality television as lacking authenticity.
Holmes’s scathing remarks come in the wake of Meghan’s recent unveiling of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which she promoted by sending limited-edition strawberry jam to influencers.
During a segment on GB News Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel, royal reporter Kinsey Schofield speculated that Meghan’s latest venture might be an attempt to “build an empire” after her and Prince Harry’s exit from the British Royal Family.
Schofield suggested that the couple’s partnership with Netflix, which yielded the widely discussed docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” may have been driven by a desire for commercial success and a platform to promote Meghan’s lifestyle brand.
It was at this point that Eamonn Holmes, never one to mince words, interjected with a biting critique of Meghan’s perceived lack of genuineness. “The irony is you used the word reality. There’s nothing real about this woman at all.”
Since Meghan and Harry’s decision to step down as senior royals in 2020 and relocate to the United States, critics have accused them of seeking to capitalize on their fame and royal connections. Their subsequent interviews, Harry’s memoir “Spare,” and various business ventures have only fueled the perception that the couple is engaged in a calculated effort to shape their public image and establish a lucrative personal brand.
