A video captured the moment a mother bear attacked some men and a dog on the island of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk,, east Russia.
The footage started with what could be termed as a playful stand-off between the dog and a bear cub, as a man recorded with others inside a remote shed.
A second cub soon came into the picture while the men, who were construction workers continued to record the events while laughing.
However, the event quickly turned ugly when the mother bear emerged and attacked the men after a brief growl.
According to the accompanying media reports, the workers and dog were ‘torn to pieces’ by the bear while another two were hospitalized as a result of the attack.
The man recording with his mobile phone survived the bear attack when his phone started ringing while the bear’s mouth was clamping his head.
The event reportedly happened on July 25, 2014, but the video was recently released.
