Divorced couple Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott shared an anguished reunion while going through personal belongings in a car trunk.
The former spouses, who were married for nearly two decades before separating in 2022, were photographed having an animated exchange punctuated by tears as they sorted through nostalgic items together at a residential garage.
At one point, a heated disagreement appeared to flare up, with Spelling captured tossing a bag at McDermott as he stood with arms outstretched in seeming disbelief. They eventually resumed their meeting seated across from each other – Spelling on the garage floor, McDermott in the trunk.
As their conversation continued, the exes were spotted sharing an intimate, tear-filled conversation while sitting side-by-side in the trunk. It was after Dean McDermott’s departure that Tori Spelling, who had remained, broke down in heavy sobs alone in her vehicle.
The pictures seem to illustrate the still-raw feelings the two are grappling with as they work to rebuild their dynamic as co-parents to five children – Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn, and Beau – after enduring a traumatic marital breakdown.
In a candid interview last year with Daily Mail, McDermott admitted that his divorce from the Beverly Hills, 90210 star had plunged him into such despair that he’d attempted suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills following one particularly explosive fight.
“I saw the light, the final flicker of the flame, go out in her eyes,” McDermott said of the night that proved the Point of no return. “I took six or seven Ambien in the hopes that I would not wake up.”
Fortunately, he survived, later expressing gratitude for a second chance: “I would’ve ruined so many lives if I had died.”
In the months since, sources say the former couple have been focused on “regrouping as a family” through healthier co-parenting. McDermott has reportedly “been taking care of himself” and become “more involved with their kids.”
However, their garage trunk interaction makes clear that the path toward pure cordiality is still an emotionally fraught one paved with difficult memories to unpack.
