Olivier Giroud, the forward for AC Milan, has definitively stated that he will not entertain the idea of returning to Ligue 1 in the future. This declaration comes as Giroud addressed questions prior to AC Milan’s upcoming Europa League round of 16 match against Rennes.
In discussions held ahead of their clash with Rennes, Giroud made it clear that his focus remains firmly on his current endeavors with AC Milan, dispelling any speculation about a potential move back to the French league.
He told Ouest-France: “I have always appreciated (Francois) Pinault (owner of Rennes), we were also neighbours for a period in London and our wives also got along well.
“In the past there was an interest from Rennes and for me it is always a pleasure to notice this sympathy that I gather in France.
“I love Brittany, but at the moment returning there is not in my plans.”
