Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has faced a string of health challenges recently, one of which he attributes to a worm that entered and ate part of his brain and subsequently died, as reported by the New York Times on Wednesday.
The 70-year-old revealed that in 2010, he grappled with severe memory loss and cognitive impairment. Upon reviewing a brain scan, a physician informed him that his symptoms might stem from a parasitic invasion into his brain, resulting in partial consumption by the organism before its demise.
Kennedy disclosed to the publication that the parasite did not necessitate treatment, and he has since recovered from the memory lapses and cognitive haze.
A spokesperson for Kennedy’s campaign suggested that he likely contracted the parasite during his travels to Africa, South America, and Asia. Additionally, the spokesperson affirmed that Kennedy currently enjoys robust physical and mental well-being.
Throughout his campaign, Kennedy has sought to project an image of vitality and vigor, contrasting himself with President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, often showcasing his engagement in demanding activities such as skiing and weightlifting.
