Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag has picked another goalkeeper Altay Bayindir to replace Andre Onana who is away on national duty.
Manchester United would be going against League Two side Newport in the Emirates FA Cup.
Andre Onana has been the first choice, with the former Internazionale man starting 30 times so far this season. But he is away for Cameroon in the African Cup of Nations.
Confirming his choice during a press conference, Ten Hag said:
“Yeah, he [Bayindir] will be in the goal,” responded the boss, when quizzed on the topic earlier this afternoon.
“I think it is clear what we can expect from him. He waits for his chances but he is experienced.
“He played for a big club in Turkey where there is a big pressure.”
Altay made 145 appearances for the Turkish side during his four-year stay and captained them on many occasions before moving to England.
He knows how to deal with it and we were all very convinced when we brought him into this club,” added Ten Hag.
“That is not a decision for just one man.
“We are looking forward to Sunday. Altay is very motivated, of course, and he can’t wait for this moment. Now that’s his moment.”
