Fulham’s Raul Jimenez was shown a straight red in the 22nd minute in their match against Newcastle at St. James Park.
Fulham had already garnered consecutive wins in their last five games, but they were brought back to reality against Newcastle.
Substitute Lewis Miley who is only 17 opened the scoring with a well-taken finish 10 minutes into the second half.
Almiron soon made it two after Robinson’s tackle on Callum Wilson brought the ball kindly to him.
Burn added the third in the 81st minute, sending home a rebound after his initial header from Bruno Guimaraes’ cross had been saved.
Speaking on Lewis goal, Eddie Howe said:
“His all-round performances have been so good and he’s created a couple of goals with some really good passes in the final third. It’s good to see him rewarded with a goal for himself. He’s an incredible talent, he’s started his Newcastle career in a great way.”
Schar and Joelinton sustained injuries during the match and they were taken off.
“It’s difficult to say. I don’t know what to say about it. That’s where we did really well to keep our composure and not dwell on those situations. Hopefully they’re not too bad,” Howe said.
