Grand Theft Auto VI, the upcoming game in the immensely popular open-world series, is allegedly going to be unveiled by Rockstar Games as early as this week. According to Bloomberg, there might be an announcement this week. To commemorate 25 years of Rockstar Games, a Grand Theft Auto VI trailer is scheduled to be released in December.
In February 2022, Rockstar initially declared that it was actively developing the next Grand Theft Auto, with development “well underway.” Since then, a Bloomberg report has stated that Grand Theft Auto VI will include the first female protagonist in the franchise, who will be influenced by Bonnie and Clyde. According to reports, Grand Theft Auto VI will take place in a Miami that has been fictionalized, much like the setting of GTA: Vice City from 2002.
Ninety videos of GTA VI footage went viral online last year thanks to a massive leak. In the leak, the female playable character was shown robbing a restaurant. With the game engine running in debug mode and object detection, the gameplay was obviously early and incomplete. A character on a “Vice City Metro” train was depicted in another leaked clip.
Ultimately, a jury in London concluded that a teenage hacker affiliated with the Lapsus$ group was responsible for well-publicized cyberattacks against Nvidia, Uber, and Rockstar Games. After threatening Rockstar Games, 18-year-old Arion Kurtaj released the Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay videos that had been leaked.
Rockstar may be prepared to announce the release date of Grand Theft Auto VI to the public if it is now prepared to give the game a name and location this week. This follows the release of GTA V. Since its 2013 release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto V has sold over 185 million copies.
It recently celebrated its tenth birthday. With frequent updates to GTA Online with new content, Grand Theft Auto V has been available across multiple console generations. The anticipated release year for Grand Theft Auto VI is 2024.
