Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis Says He Will Be Fine About Hip Injury Suffered Against Miami Heat

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis had to deal with a hip injury during Monday’s 108-107 loss to the Miami Heat. He talked about his condition following the game

“I think letting it calm down, just talking to my trainer, everything will be fine,” he told reporters.

He also said, “I’ll be fine” and available for Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets:

Throughout his career, injuries have been a constant worry for Davis, particularly in the last three seasons.

The Lakers appeared to be a serious contender for the championship last season when they had a healthy Davis towards the end. During a stretch of the playoffs, he was arguably the best player in the NBA. In the first two rounds, the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies in particular had a great deal of trouble against him and his defense.

The Kentucky product faced the Grizzlies and Warriors in 12 starts, averaging 3.3 blocks and 1.4 steals per contest. In addition, he pulled down 14.1 rebounds and scored 21.2 points on 53.0 percent shooting per game.

That was the Davis that the Lakers relied on so much during their championship run in the 2019–20 campaign.

Los Angeles placed a wager that Davis could continue to play at a high level for many more years. He signed a three-year, $186 million contract extension with the team in August, and the deal runs through the 2026–2027 season with a $63.4 million player option for 2027–2028.

The Lakers’ chances of winning an NBA championship could be severely harmed if he were to leave the starting lineup.

At this point in his career, LeBron James has a limited amount of abilities. After signing a four-year, $54 million contract with the Lakers as a restricted free agent, Austin Reaves hopes to build on his record-breaking 2022–2023 campaign.

If Davis is injured, Taurean Prince might have to take on a more significant role.

Even though he had a hip problem against the Heat, it appears that he will be fit for the next game.
