Arsenal crashed out of the Carabao Cup after getting thrashed by West Ham on Wednesday, although Mikel Arteta made major changes to the starting 11.
West Ham took the lead in the 16th minute from an unfortunate Ben White goal. Bowen crossed a beautiful corner into the box and White headed the curling ball into the net.
He tried to redeem himself moments later when he headed Nelson’s cross towards goal before it was blocked by Fabianski for a corner.
In the 50th minute, Mohammed Kudus made it two for the home side when he cut in a long ball from the right before sending it into the bottom corner past Ramsdale.
Declan Rice and Takehiro Tomiyasu came on for Jorginho and Zinchenko respectively in the 57th minute.
Three minutes later, Bowen made it threw for West Ham, striking a ball towards the goal which took a deflection before finding the back of the net.
Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka were introduced in the 66th minute, replacing Trossard and Nelson.
Martin Odegaard came on as Nketiah made way with just over 10 minutes to go, and he pulled a consolation for Arsenal.
He hit the wall with a free-kick before scoring with a shot into the bottom right corner for 3-1.
Arsenal return to Premier League action with a clash against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
