On Tuesday, seven-time Pro Bowler and wide receiver Julio Jones agreed to a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
A.J. Brown, a former teammate of Jones’s with the Tennessee Titans who advocated for a trade for him in 2021, will be present at the reunion.
The Eagles tested out receivers Marquez Callaway and Dezmon Patmon on Monday after recently placing wide out Quez Watkins on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. They ultimately chose Jones, who will be playing for his fourth team in four years.
Jones has the most career receiving yards (13.629) of any NFL player who is still playing.
Along with playing with Brown in Tennessee, Jones also shared the field with Eagles receiver Olamide Zaccheaus from 2019 to 2020 while they were both with the Atlanta Falcons.
In terms of receiving yards (12,896), catches (848), single-season receptions (136), single-season receiving yards (1,871), 100-yard games (58), and 1,000-yard seasons (seven), Jones holds the franchise record for the Falcons.
In seven career games versus the Eagles, Jones, a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year, has 50 catches for 804 yards and five touchdowns, including the game-winning score in 2019.
After Brown and DeVonta Smith, he will now aim to bring some of that to Philadelphia as the Eagles’ probable No. 3 receiver.
