A Wisconsin woman who was found guilty of killing and dismembering a former boyfriend and dispersing his body parts around the country was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole on Tuesday.

Taylor Schabusiness, 25, was given a sentence by a judge in Brown County for killing Shad Thyrion, 24, in February 2022. She had been found guilty by a jury of first-degree deliberate killing, third-degree sexual assault, and dismembering a corpse in July.

The jury also determined that Schabusiness wasn’t mentally sick when she killed Thyrion, despite the fact that she had pled not guilty and not guilty due to a mental illness or defect.

Thyrion and Schabusiness, according to the prosecution, had used methamphetamine in the basement of Thyrion’s mother’s Green Bay house before Schabusiness killed, mutilated, and strangled him. After that, according to investigators, she scattered pieces of his body throughout the house and inside a car.

On February 23, 2022, Schabusiness was detained after Thyrion’s mother phoned the police to her home after finding her son’s head in a bucket in the basement.
