It appears that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner were unable to maintain their relationship.
Four years after the Jonas Brother and the Game of Thrones star said “I do,” reports claim that he has hired a divorce attorney.
The couple has been spending time apart recently, a source tells ET.
“Sophie and Joe have been spending more time apart recently,” the source says. “Joe has been busy on tour and spending a lot of time with his family. Joe has also been caring for their kids a lot.”
Turner’s spokesman declined to comment.
On Sunday, TMZ was the first to disclose that Turner, 27, and Jonas, 34, had been experiencing issues for about six months. The “Burnin’ Up” singer “pretty much had them all the time” while he was touring the United States with his band, according to the publication, which broke the news that they were on the verge of a breakup.
Additionally, it was said that the “S.O.S” singer hired a divorce attorney.
The “Hesitate” singer was recently on The Tour, and keen-eyed fans spotted that he was missing his wedding ring.
The couple received $15 million for their Miami, Florida home in August.
Turner was present last month in New York City for the opening night of the Jonas Brothers’ The Tour. The actress wowed on the occasion in a green midi dress as she performed with her sister-in-laws Priyanka Chopra and Danielle Jonas.
Turner posted a series of romantic images to her Instagram Story on August 15 in honor of Jonas, who turned 34 that day. One of the images featured the “Love Bug” singer and her wearing matching pajamas.
“Happy birthday handsome,” she captioned the snap that featured them inside of a closet rocking the stripped PJs.
Turner and Jonas first became associated in 2016. The couple announced their engagement in October 2017, which was one year later. After the Billboard Music Awards in 2019, the couple surprised their fans by getting married in a secret ceremony in Las Vegas that was livestreamed by Diplo. The couple held a larger, “more traditional” wedding in France two months later.
The “Cool” singer and The Staircase actress gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Willa, in 2020, throughout the course of their relationship. The couple’s second child, a daughter they haven’t revealed the name of, was born in July 2022.
Turner’s representative informed ET at the time, “Joe and Sophie are happy to announce the arrival of their baby girl.”
During an interview with Ryan Seacrest in January, Jonas shared some uncommon insight about the time he proposed to Turner.
“I was probably more nervous to ask her dad than I was to ask her,” Jonas told Seacrest. “It just all mumbles up,” he said of making that all-important ask. “You throw out there and hope that her response is good, and you look back on it, and you’re like, ‘What did I say?’ Luckily it went well.”
