Ronaldo’s late penalty was more than enough for Al-Nassr as they progressed to the final of the Arab Cup final after beating Al-Shorta.
Al-Nassr’s first real attack came in the 32nd minute when Brozovic passed a through ball and Ronaldo ran on to it and placed it past the keeper with a left-footed finish.
The goal did not count because Ronaldo was offside according to the VAR. That was the only highlight of the first half, although both teams applied pressure.
In the second half, Al-Nassr was in better control of the ball and they got their break in the 74th minute when Mane was brought down in the box.
The Saudi players kept appealing for a penalty and the referee had to do a VAR check. After the check, a penalty was given and Ronaldo did not waste the opportunity. He sent the ball into the right side netting, well away from the keeper.
Al-Shorta came close to an equalizer in the final play but Al-Nassr goalkeeper Alaqidi was forced into making a key last-ditch save.
