Christiano Ronaldo has once again found himself in the news for another positive result as Al Nassr beat Raja CA to move to the semi-finals of the Arab Cup.
Al Nassr faced Raja CA on Sunday, the 6th of August, and Ronaldo who has recently demonstrated good form was looking to make another impact. Their opponents Raja CA had previously won the competition in 2009 and 2020.
The legendary footballer put Al Nassr in front in the 19th minute. Talisca started the move, moving the ball along the right flank and beating his marker before passing to Ronaldo who fired the ball into the back of the net.
Sultan Al Ghanam made it two before the 30-minute mark. He took the ball forward in a counterattack against Raja CA and fired it past Zniti. There was concern for offside, but VAR cleared the goal.
Five minutes later, Ronaldo tries another shot from outside the box, but Zniti denies his chance for a brace.
Al Nassr got their third of the match two minutes to half-time through Fofana who heads Telles’ beautiful cross into the net.
Raja CA’s only goal of the game came when Madu scored an own goal in a bid to get Zrida’s cross out of Al Nassr’s penalty box.
In the 83rd minute, Ronaldo failed to get a brace after his shot hit the woodwork. Sultan started the move. He beat two defenders and got into the box before passing it to Ghareeb who then gets it to Ronaldo.
Ronaldo stopped, switched his attack, and then shot but the ball hit the post. After 90 minutes, Al Nassr is through to the Semis.
