Chelsea are with new manager Mauricio Pochettino and they have been impressive since he began. They also had quite the run in the summer series.
Liverpool have been more of the busy side in the transfer window, and that have strengthened their squad and added some top players.
The Reds have won eight and drawn two of their last 10 opening-day fixtures, since a 3-0 defeat at West Brom in 2012.
Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp is confident that his side can deliver. He said:
“It’s a new chance for everybody, everybody has to step up, the new leadership group and not only them.”
Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are both set to make their competitive debuts for the Reds after impressing in pre-season.
Both played in at least four of Liverpool’s summer fixtures but also suffered setbacks along the way.
