One Dead In Mid-Air Collision Between Two Planes In Wisconsin Airshow

Following a mid-air collision between two aircraft during an airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, a guy from Clermont County was reported dead.

Around 12:30 pm on Saturday, during the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh event, a crash occurred at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Police identified the victims as passenger Thomas Volz, 72, of Amelia, Ohio, and pilot Mark Peterson, 69, both of Alabama.

The aircraft involved was an ELA 10 Eclipse gyrocopter and a Rotorway 162F helicopter, according to the National Transportation Safety Board. These were private planes that were present at the event but were not part of the air show. The collision also injured another two people.
