Andrew Tate has been charged in Romania with rape, human trafficking, and forming an organized crime group to sexually exploit women.
The indictment deposited with the Bucharest court alleges that Andrew Tate, his brother, and two others, formed an organized criminal group in 2021 to commit human trafficking not only in Romania, but also in other countries including the US and the UK.
Charges of money laundering and trafficking of minors which are still been investigated could lead to other separate indictments.
The charge named seven alleged victims who claimed they were recruited by the Tate brothers through false promises of love and marriage.
The Tate brothers who were first arrested at their Bucharest home in December denied all the allegations.
They were moved from custody to house arrest in March after a ruling by a Romanian judge.
According to a statement from Romanian prosecutors, Andrew Tate and co., housed their victims in Ilfov County in Romania where they were intimidated, placed under constant surveillance and control, and forced into debt.
They then forced the women to participate in pornography which was later shared on social media.
Prosecutors have ordered that the assets of the Tate brothers, which include 15 luxury cars, luxury watches, and about $3 million in cryptocurrency, be confiscated.
Another defendant was said to have raped a woman in March 2022.
A Romanian judge will inspect the case files within 60 days before it can proceed to trial.
“While this news is undoubtedly predictable, we embrace the opportunity it presents to demonstrate their innocence and vindicate their reputation”, the media team for the Tate brothers said.
The “allows us to present a comprehensive body of evidence, diligently collected and prepared over time, which will undoubtedly substantiate the brothers’ claims of innocence”, it continued.
Andrew Tate has repeatedly claimed that Romanian prosecutors have no evidence and said the various accusations were a political conspiracy to silence him.
