Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the upcoming sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is set to be released later this month. But when does the story take place?
Developed by Respawn Entertainment, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor reunites players with Jedi Knight Cal Kestis. This time, Cal must stay one step ahead of the Galactic Empire and its devastating mission to wipe out the last survivors of Order 66. Like, Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor hinges on lightsaber combat with there being five “fully realized” stances in the game for Cal to use.
Some of the stances return from Fallen Order, while others, like the special dual-wield single-blade attack, are back in a more expanded form. A new, heavier crossguard lightsaber stance, like the one used by Kylo Ren, makes an appearance in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Players need to use this one with confidence, keeping in mind longer timing windows for blocking and parrying.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will also feature larger and more expansive maps compared to Fallen Order, with more NPCs to interact with and more areas to explore.

When does Star Wars Jedi: Survivor take place?
The story of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, setting it five years after the events of Survivor’s prequel Fallen Order.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order followed the fall of the democratic Galactic Republic and its peacekeeping organization Jedi Order. In its place was the rise of the totalitarian Galactic Empire.
A tie-in novel was released on March 7, 2023, named Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars, which was written by Sam Maggs. The novel bridges the five-year gap between the events of the two games and features returning characters from Fallen Order including Cere Junda, Greez Dritus, Nightsister Merrin, and BD-1.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be launched on April 28, 2023, and will be available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
