Videos of ants “using” their colleague and then abandoning them have gone viral on social media
The ants in the video above can be seen climbing on top of a fellow ant, to get across another section of a path. And while the video has gone viral, unfortunately, it is been associated with the wrong reasons.
Yes, it might seem the ants just used their friend to get across and left him behind, but, in the ant’s world, that is how things are done.
Ants are social creatures, and just like bees, they aid and can sacrifice themselves for the rest if need be. It is uncommon to see ants hold themselves and form bridges across wet surfaces and water, so that the others might march on, walking on them.
The “abandoned” ant in the video, will surely look for a way around or simply return back to their colony, or in the worst case, pay the ultimate price.
