Leandro Trossard was on target for Brighton three times and it was enough to give them a point from their outing. Brighton is currently fourth in the table and they were looking for a win that could close the gap to Manchester City and Tottenham above them.
Brighton took the lead away at Anfield in the 4th minute, after Trossard picked up the ball in the box, sending Alexander-Arnold the wrong way, and finishing low into the bottom right corner past Alisson.
Liverpool was struggling to create chances and convert the ball, as they were only pressing, but could not get through Brighton’s defense.

The 33rd minute saw Firmino pull one back for Liverpool after he reacted quickly to a poor touch from Salah. The goal was initially disallowed but it stood after a VAR check.
After the break, Liverpool was the better side, as Firmino got his second of the game in the 54th minute when he chopped the ball past Dunk into the bottom corner, leveling the game.
