The Simpsons returns for a Treehouse of Horror XXXIII Halloween special with three parts presenting unique perspectives on The Babadook and Westworld as well as a full Death Note spoof named “Death Tome,” which made its debut earlier in Season 34.
Early previews of the Death Note homage, the second part of the program, have surfaced, giving viewers their first glimpse at characters like Marge and Homer rendered in distinctive anime art forms.
The short, which so far has excellent animations from South Korean company DR Movie, which has worked on shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Batman (The Animated Series), and Teen Titans, seems rather interesting.
A short has also been released that depicts Lisa Simpson as the recipient of the potent “Death Tome” in addition to the screenshots. The scene is in a polluted dystopian city, and Lisa laments the situation, saying, “The human species is 20 cow farts away from absolute extinction, and we deserve it.”
With her newfound strength, Lisa will probably embark on a mission to change the world, encountering unexpected challenges along the way. Disco Stu and the twins Sherri and Terri, as seen in anime, are teased in the background.
On October 30, at 8 PM EST, the special Treehouse of Horror XXXIII episode will show on FOX stations. The next day, it will be streamed on Hulu.
