If you run a Facebook page that has a decent amount of audience and traffic, chances are you might have come across this message in your inbox, and either you fell for it and probably lost your sweat or you were lucky to detect it was fraudulent, probably, you might have heard about the scheme.

And if you are reading this article, great chances are that you just received one, and have come to Google to find out if it is legit or not.

Well, always remember this- “if it is so good to be true, you gotta flee”. I mean why will somebody pay you thousands of dollars per week or day just to advertise on your Facebook page with the audience and engagement that it has? Lol!

Whoever the advertisers are will surely make more return on their investment by running their promo directly on Facebook or other media outlets, and do you think they don’t know?

Now, in case you are still hesitating. Those messages are from hackers seeking to steal your Facebook page and sell it off, and this is how they do it.

First, they request that you grant them access to your Facebook Ad Account. After that, they send you another link from Facebook which once you click on it, they too immediately become an admin of your page. The hacker would immediately proceed to remove you as an admin and that is it, you’ve lost your dear Facebook page, and there is nothing you can do.

So when next you come across such messages seeking to place paid ads on your Facebook account, then proceed to request you to add them to your ads account, flee!
