According to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the body of missing Princeton University student, Misrach Ewunetie, was discovered on campus on Thursday.
According to a statement from Mercer County prosecutor Angelo Onofri and Kenneth Strother Jr., the school’s assistant vice president for public safety, her corpse was discovered on the facility’s grounds at around 1 p.m., near tennis courts.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by an autopsy performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner, according to the statement. Her death “does not appear suspicious or criminal in origin” and there were “no signs of injury.”
The institution described the death as a “unthinkable tragedy” in a statement.
According to her brother, Eunetie’s family claimed earlier on Thursday that they had been “kept in the dark” by the authorities. He added that they are frantic for information and trying to put together a timeline of her whereabouts.
Six days after Ewunetie, 20, vanished, university officials stepped up their search for the junior.
Her elder brother, Universe Ewunetie, said her family was especially concerned that she skipped a meeting on Saturday, discussing her citizenship.
Authorities reportedly warned Universe Ewunetie that the inquiry would take some time. We don’t have time, so that’s one thing we don’t have, he added.
The prosecutor’s office and the university’s public safety department have been contacted by CNN for comment regarding Universe Ewunetie’s allegations.

Universe Ewunetie called his sister “a sweet, beautiful spirit” who “cares about people outside her” and is “a fantastic listener.”

The president of one of the school’s 11 eating clubs informed the student newspaper The Daily Princetonian that Ewunetie was volunteering there on Thursday night. Ewunetie’s absence was rare, according to Sara Elagad, executive director of the nonprofit Minds Matter Cleveland, who spoke to CNN.
