A Washington woman, Flores has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for selling her six years old daughter for sex, in exchange for Nike sneakers.
The U.S Department of Justice reported that 31 years old Kylie Ruby Flores sold her young daughter to the man, known as Trever Harder, after meeting him via the dating website ‘Plenty of Fish.’
Harder taped himself raping the little girl, after promising the mother a new pair of Nike shoes and a small won’t of cash, as well as a place to stay, which she gave in.
Both offenders have pleaded guilty to the charges laid against them. On Wednesday, U.S Attorney Vanessa Waldref said in a statement:
“The facts of this case present some of the most egregious sexual abuse of a child one can imagine.” She added that:
“The sentence was important, but it is equally important to remember that Flores’ sentence will likely be much shorter than the lifelong impact on the child. No sentence can return the child’s innocence, but our community is now safer and stronger.”
Flores and Harder allegedly committed the horrible abuse between February 2 and July 26 of last year, according to the initial criminal indictment.
Her daughter was also able to describe what Harder did to her, as the man hid a camera in his cat tree to record the sickening act.
Waldref also stated:
“Thanks to an effective and cooperative investigation, she is neither missing nor murdered today — but she is not the only child in danger. Today’s sentence sends a clear message to those who seek to sexually abuse children: Justice is coming.”
