Premier League Superstars, Manchester City has beaten Borussia Dortmund by two goals to one in the second fixture of the UEFA Champions League group stage, despite the German side taking the lead in the second half.
Both sides try to get shots into the post but City could not get the ball passed Dortmund’s defense. At the end of the first half, both sides were not able to convert any goal.
Early in the second half, the German side heightened their attack and got a goal in the 56th minute from a cross. A Dortmund corner is initially cleared to Reus, who crosses it back into the box and Bellingham flicks it past Ederson.
Manchester City made three changes in the second half to get their game back on track, bringing in Silver, Foden, and Alvarez. The Premier League giants finally got their breakthrough in the 80th minute, after J. stone fired an amazing shot into the back of Dortmund’s net, bringing City back into the game.
In the 84th minute, Cancelo sends a cross to the back post with the outside of his boot, and Haaland scores against his old club with an acrobatic finish to give City the lead. Alvarez almost made it 3-1 just before halftime, ball the ball went straight to Meyer. After 90 minutes, City is sitting pretty with six points from two games.
