Man Gets Jailed for Using Another Person’s Social Security Number for Job

From the Southern District of Iowa’s U.S. Attorney’s Office:

Following his plea to a charge of misuse of social security number, Mexican citizen Eric Jimenez Del Carmen, 39, of Denison, was sentenced on September 7, 2022, to 21 months in prison.

Del Carmen knowingly applied for a job with Harlan-based Monogram Foods in November 2019 using a social security number that was not assigned to him. Del Carmen was successful in getting a job at Monogram Foods thanks to the misuse of his social security number.

The announcement was made by Richard D. Westphal, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa. The case was looked into by the Social Security Administration and Homeland Security Investigations.
