AC Milan slammed Dinamo Zagreb to become group leaders, after the second group stage fixture of the 2022 UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, 14th of September. The Italian side has struggled with some wins and draws in their recent matches, including the 1-1 draw with Salzburg.
This time, Milan hosted their opposition and aimed to become group leaders as both sides fought their best on the pitch. Dinamo had a shocking win over Chelsea in their first match of the Champions League and Milan was wary.
Both sides countered and had numerous chances to convert but could not put the ball in the back of the net. In the 45th minute, Olivet Giroud scored a penalty to put the Italian Giants in front, after a clumsy challenge on Leao from Sutalo. In the 47th minute, Saelemaekers makes it two after a wonderful header from Ristovski cross.
Dinamo started playing better after the 50th minute, and Orsic pulled one back for the visitors in the 56th minute. Pobega finished the match with a sublime shot to put Milan two goals ahead and the match ended 3 goals to one in favour of the Italia giants.
