Why Queen Elizabeth won’t see Harry & Meghan during their visit next month

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrive in the U.K. next month, Queen Elizabeth may find it difficult to meet them because she has a very busy week at the start of September and because “some things cannot be moved,” according to sources at Buckingham Palace.

The Daily Beast was informed by sources at Buckingham Palace that, despite there being no intention to influence public opinion regarding whether Harry and Meghan will be granted an audience with the queen or not, the queen will have a busy week starting on September 5 due to her constitutional obligations.

Harry and Meghan are anticipated to visit the UK twice in September: once for the WellChild Awards on September 8 and once for the One Young World 2022 Summit in Manchester on September 5.

They will be in Düsseldorf for an Invictus Games competition between these days. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, they’re anticipated to stay at their Frogmore Cottage residence in Windsor.

The queen will hold an audience with Britain’s incoming prime minister on September 6 and extend an invitation for them to form a government, making it the most visible of her duties that week.

Despite the fact that this meeting won’t last very long, the queen, who is renowned for her meticulous work ethic, will demand thorough briefing notes to prepare for her meeting with the new PM.

She won’t likely welcome trivial domestic distractions as she gets ready to appoint the person who could potentially be her last prime minister.

After the official activity, she’ll probably want to take some time to ponder on and write about her meeting with advisors in her private journals.

Few people enjoy having their private talks broadcast on television, especially if they are the queen and it implies that other family members are careless or incompetent. The queen can be twice as shy after being bitten.

So, the fact that Harry and Meghan chose this week for their visit may provide the palace with a practical way to announce a meeting.
